Wait! I am alive!!!
After a ridiculously long absence, I am back. The new job
is, as real jobs tend to be, vastly time consuming. I am
doing graphic design/web design for a company called AMS.
It is a neat company and allows me the stability of going
corporate with the freedom to do some slick graphics. I've
even gotten to play with Macromedia Flash and I'm thinking
it might be time for a redesign here...
While I apologize to all those who tried
to order a shirt during my absence, I just want to let you
know that I will be offering a small number of limited edition,
first run silk screened Razorfish
tees on assorted color long sleeves. They are pretty slick
with "thirteen beyond" printed on the sleeve.
More info soon!

I just want to let you know that the studio is relocating.
I'm moving to Fairfax, VA, a little place outside of Washington
DC. While the computers are all packed up, I probably won't
be able to check much email, so be patient. I'll be back
online soon.
In the meantime, get yourself a high bandwidth net connection
like DSL or cable and go out there and play. It might seem
like a lot of moneyat first, but it will change the way
you deal with the net forever. Sites like Atom-Bomb
and Atom-Films
take on a whole new meaning when you get to pick the fastest
video streaming option. :) Even the Depeche
Mode site, with clips of every one of their videos,
is no problem. Click, read something for 30 seconds, then
watch a Quicktime movie. The 80's in your face. Bam!!!

What a strange place we call home...
There is so much wild stuff going on each day. I just read
about two 12 year old twins leading a minority rebellion
in Burma. This is the real deal; cigar smoking, gun toting,
spiritual leading, kids. It's almost spooky, but
in a world of people turning their eyes away from blatant
atrocities, it figures that it would take the innocence
of youth to take a stand. Or maybe it's just humanity at
it's finest, eternally fighting itself yet again... Either
way, it's time for you to find out about
The
12-Year-Olds Behind God's Army
[ January 6, 2000 ]
Well, I hope everyone had an enjoyable New Years and happy holidays.
It looks like we lucked out; no Y2K disaster, no Armageddon, and
no massive city riots. Everyone woke up to a a day like any other.
For those who celebrated the Millennium glamorously, they woke
up a little poorer, maybe hungover, and definitely a little more
cynical about next year's 2001 festivities. While some may complain
about the trillion dollar expenses incurred in repairing the whole
Y2K date thing, all I can say is that I am ecstatic that the lights
stayed on after midnight here and across the planet.
But I'm still sickly curious about the adventure of life without
computers...

Wow, it's been a while since the last update!
Well, after a few computer crashes, glitches and quirks, a windows
reinstall, and an assortment of new parts, I'm pretty much back
online. More soon...

Happy Thanksgiving!
Just wishing everyone well on this US holiday. Take a minute to actually think
about what it's all about. Thanksgiving is a celebration of the selfless
gift of food, given by the Native Americans, that was meant to help the pilgrims
survive in hard times and wild country
as well as to bring two vastly different cultures closer together. While
today, it has become an American staple for turkey, football, and super discount sales,
remember, that where www.thanksgiving.com
takes you is pretty far out of touch with the spirit of the holiday, regardless of how
digital we are becoming.

Real Spy(TM)
This is too good to let it pass by. It turns out that Real Networks, makers of the oh so popular,
Real Audio Player, are tracking your musical activities online. When you register for
RealJukebox, you are assigned a nifty little number to track your software usage. It's funny,
Big Brother might not be watching from the TV, but he just might be worming his way into the
radio.

Subversive
Choppers Urban Legion
Here's a breath of fresh weirdness. This is the website for a
group of people who take bikes to a very strange level. And then
they take pictures. :)
[ November 12, 1999 ]
Well, I just watched The
Bone Collector the other night. It was pretty good and quite
suspenseful in parts without being hokey. But the really amazing
part was how they rejected the stereotypical Ultra Beautiful People
Everywhere look. The characters in this flick were down to earth
for the most part, and down right ugly at times. There were nerds
everywhere, but of course, the lead fem, Angelina Jolie, was bedding
some exotic stud who shows up for about 3.2 minutes.
At least the utterly ridiculous sound problems in the theater
were fixed quickly. It's funny, about two nights before, there
had been a news report on TV about the dangerously high sound
levels in Miami movie theaters. So this time, once they got the
amazingly annoying surround sound dropouts fixed, a theater attendant
showed up with a walkie talkie and was checking the volume for
"The Men Upstairs." I guess the media really does run this world.
One other very interesting note was the role technology plays
in keeping Denzel Washington's character, a near quadraplegic,
able to function and even keep his job. He uses voice recognition,
the standard breath blower, and a Magical Mystery Miracle Button
that let him move computerized puzzle pieces into place while
rotating them using telepathy. Well, maybe not telepathy, but
all in all, it showed interesting possibilities for the future
of (all bills paid, ultra intelligent, and still working) handicapped
persons. Or something like that.

Kiddies!

Today's message is quite clear. Go see Fight Club! This movie
is one of those ultra rare dirty little gems that actually deserves
to be called Amazing. It it is wild, it is filmed amazingly well,
and it is going to make you sit and think about what's important
in your life. It's not a promotion of violent behavior. The ideas
in it are products of our modernized society and our inherent
acceptance of that society. Oh yeah, one other thing. If someone
wants to tell you details about this movie or ramble about how
it flows and ends, stop them, leave them, paint them green, do
whatever, but do not listen! Go see for yourself. :)

Well, our online credit card processing service, Billpoint, may
be closing it's doors. Unfortunately, until we can get up and
running with another service the online ordering has been temporarily
shutdown.

Here's another bolt from the blue. Ladies, if you want to be on
the edge of fashion and have money to burn, check out the MPH
Poster Dress. It's made out of Tyvek, the same untearable
paper that the USPS uses to make their Priority Mail envelopes.
The dresses have nifty pictures printed on them. You can even
whip out the scissors and custimize it to your heart's content.

For all you waiters and waitresses out there, here's a good tip.
(pardon the pun) If you want to increase your tip 52%, lightly
touch the customer on the arm or shoulder as you bring out the
check and thank them for their visit. This is supposed to work
but as all in life, isn't a sure thing. Might as well try it and
see what happens, though.

Here's an interesting tidbit. Bill Gates, the world's richest
individual, has donated 1 billion to be used for college scholarships.
Whether you feel he is a lord of capitalism or a demon of monopoly,
the fact remains that when you have that much money, you can't
help but help. Check out the story on Avault's
site. Either way, study hard, Microsoft just might be sending
you to school for free!

Are you the annoyed receiver of unwanted junk email, or spam?
While this lunchmeat has donated its name to a vastly different
entity, you're not alone in getting it delivered fresh to your
digital mailbox. It may save trees, but how much of that junk
mail would you actually have gotten if someone was paying for
the envelopes and stamps? If you are a seeker to an end of spam,
I'm sorry, you're out of luck, the game is over, spam has won
and it's here to stay. That does not mean you have to just accept
defeat graciously, though. :) Check out the Anti-Spam
Site and see if you can win some fresh battles.

The T-shirts are online and on sale. Check it out. And stay tuned
for a killer contest coming up soon.
There are new visuals to experience as
well. Check out the flavors of hiero bee. This design
is inspired by the ancient egyptian hieroglyph for bees. Enjoy...

Happy Friday the 13th everyone! Party like your souls depend on
it. And for those who are party impaired, go see Bowfinger
instead. Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy, together, finally!
On a different note, here's an interesting site for all you voyeurs out there. Webcrawler's
Search Voyeur shows you a stream
of topics being searched for right now.

Alright already! I finally got a bunch of pictures scanned and put online. They aren't really captioned yet
but for those of you out there who know these faces, I hope you get a kick out of them! Some are from Boston, but quite a few go way back. :)

The problem with world hunger is not the lack of enough food. It is the lack of contributed
funds to distribute the excess food in this world to those who need it most.
The Hunger Site seeks to rectify that situation.
They contact corporate donors and let you click a link to send the money for a meal to someone in need. It may have
to slowly filter through a bureaucratic nightmare to get there, but at least it's giving a lot more help than most
of us ever do on our own. The site is backed by the United Nations World Food Project so it's legit. If you're
smart, you'll make it your homepage and click it once each day. If you're not so smart, you probably wouldn't have found
this website anyways, so I know you can do this! Thanks for the 411, Gemma!

Was it Hate? Man Tied to Tree and Burned to Death in Texas.
What kind of a question is that? He certainly didn't LOVE the guy! Check out this article about another backwoods atrocity.
And people wonder why I try to avoid watching the news.

Well, I finally got my scanner working again. After moving, it mysteriously stopped being recognized in Photoshop.
I copped out and ended up running it through my parallel port instead. Let me tell you, SCSI is a pain.
In the spirit of scanning, I worked on a new image. This one is akin to the Hecticity series. It depicts one of my closest friends, Gemma.
It is also marks the first time I've gone out on a limb and Psychedlified one of my friends. I've always been pretty hesitant about
warping people's digital selves. Take a look at Perilous Addiction.
And since the scanner works now, I'll hopefully have some pictures to put online soon. :)

Just wanted to let you know that there is a new picture to visually experience,

Well, I'm finally making another appearance. After moving and then an awesome trip to
Boston, I'm only now getting my computers put back together. If you've never been to
Boston, I highly recommend it. Aim for the summer, though. :) Once I get the pictures developed
I'll scan them and give you a taste.
Ever wonder why people smoke cigarettes? Ever thought that maybe men and women
might have different reasons? What about mixing carrots and nicotine?

Welcome to the newly revised (and still very much under development) 13 beyond.
Hopefully things will start filling out soon, but for now, everything works. Hopefully :)
This site uses somewhat advanced WWW technology. If your browser just chokes like a mother,
you can visit the alternate site here. It may
not be updated as often, however, at least it will work better for you.
